2022 Car Show and Classic Weekend is just around the corner

WE ARE A GO FOR 2022!!!!!

The 2022 Classic Weekend is just around the corner.  For those of you who do not know about this, the Alum Bank Fire Company located in Alum Bank, PA hosts a classic weekend featuring antique and classic cars, motorcycles, and tractors. The planning for the 2021 Alum Bank Classic Weekend is pretty much complete. The events will take place July 7-10, 2022 on the Alum Bank Fire Company grounds.  The committee has been hard at work planning the venue for this year’s events and this year promises not to disappoint once again.

We plan to begin our Classic Weekend this year with our annual firemen’s parade. The lineup will take place on Barefoot Road and weave through town ending at the fire company grounds. The parade line-up will begin at 6pm with the parade taking place at 7.  There will be live entertainment featuring "Hickory Bottom Band" beginning at 7pm in the pavilion. Once again, we will attempt to have the Modified Garden Tractor Pulls by the Allegheny Pullers Association and Light Farm Tractors sponsored by Dulls Auto Wreckers.  This event will be taking place on the new track at the lower section of the grounds. (Modified Garden Tractor Pull Video) There will no longer be Children's Peddle Tractor Pulls on Thursday evening.  All peddle tractor pulls will take place on Saturday.

The plans for Friday evening are very similar for this year.  We will be opening up our venue at 5:00 pm.  We will be holding the Pickup Truck Pulls once again Friday evening.  Weigh-ins for the truck pulls will take place at 6 pm and the pulls beginning time will be announced that evening.  There will be trophies awarded for the truck pulls.  We have received a lot of positive feedback about the Cruise-In that will take place Friday evening from 6 pm to 9 pm, as well as the Burn-Out Competition, starting at 6:30 on the concrete pad(Burnout Video)in the field. The Fabulous Flashbacks will also be returning to provide the evening entertainment in the pavilion beginning at 7:30 pm.

Saturday morning, the guys will be up bright and early getting the barbeque pit fired up for the Chicken Barbeque. We plan on cars and motorcycles to begin rolling in for the show in the early part of the morning. Judging will begin at 12 noon which will also be the end of registration.  Awards will be given once again to the top 5 place winners in each class.  We will announce the place winners in order from 5th to 1st in each class.  Awards will be given at or around 4 pm

There will be a Tractor Cruise leaving the grounds at 10:00 am Saturday morning for those who would like to go for a ride on their tractors.  In a change, we will be holding the Pedal Tractor Pulls on Saturday this year.  Pulls will begin at 2 pm and is for anyone age 4 to 94.  There will also be Antique, Classic, and Farm Stock Tractor Pulls with weigh ins at 3:00 pm, and the pulls beginning at 4.  "Shindiggin" sponsored by Somerset Trust and Rex Heat Treat will be taking the stage at 7:30 pm Saturday evening for your listening entertainment.  We are pleased to announce that our famous fireworks display will take place Saturday evening once again.  The Fishertown Country Store in Fishertown, Bedford Auto Group (Bedford Ford, Bedford Chrysler, East Coast RV), Dr Henry Shoenthal in New Paris, and our own Auxiliary will be sponsoring the fireworks display. We would like to send out a special thank you to Chris Crouse and the rest of the fireworks crew for such a tremendous show in the past as we are excited about this year’s event.  They tend to throw in a surprise or two each year and we anxiously await to see what is up their sleeves this year.  It will definitely be worth coming out on Saturday July 9, 2022 to see.

Sunday will be different than past years.  The pigs will still be coming off of the roaster in the morning in time for the 11 o’clock opening of the kitchen. The community church service will be held in the pavilion at 10 am. We plan to conclude the weekend once again following these events with our door prize drawings.

It proves to be an exhausting weekend for the firemen, auxiliary, cooks behind the scenes, and all of our community members who volunteer to make this weekend a success. We would like to thank our many sponsors for their generosity each year. For those who have been in attendance at our classic weekend, we would love to hear your comments.
